nobody says "you're the weakest of the herd"
yet the predator instinctively finds you
without even realizing you've been
cut away from the herd
it seems natural to be pounced on,
like some scene from Wild Kingdom
with Marlin Perkins watching as Jim
let's the herd run by and films it all
the predator, doesn't know it has
made a choice only knows the hunger
for the kill and is quickly on its prey
as it collapses beneath the weight
and tumbles shaking and quivering,
gasping for relief and then it comes
the heart breaks, broken, despairing
and the soul flies away and all that is left is the physical
the predator feeds as the spirit hovers above amazed
and in short hours the flesh becomes carrion and the
spirit watches as they come, feeding on the carrion
of a heart that broke and died, the only hope, a resurrection
and it's too soon to ponder as the hyenas fight the vultures
for the last of what's left of a broken heart
nobody says "you're the weakest of the herd"
yet the predator instinctively finds you...

Larry. This is so heart rouching and it leaves and ache that wells up time after the initial moment
I love your sharing and writing. Thank you
Have you read anything about the Arch Angels? Do you have any thoughts?

It leaves me wondering, where does the predator get it's instincts? Very different for you a darker side of you today...
you've captured it with intensity, great!!!
you have a very rich blog!
you've wandered away from your usual style ...
It is an expansion thing, I suspect, to move from the usual styles! I am looking at that in personal writing...floundering but looking:>)
