Artist's Date

A date with myself to nurture the "artist" in me.
Could be interesting.
I have done it, but it has been a long time ago.
There are lots of things I could do.
Take a camera to the Botanical Garden for lunch.
Go to the museum downtown.
Spend time in the park.
Take a walk through the mall.
Pick up a CD and put it on for my listening pleasure.

Have "YOU" ever done an Artist's Date ? What was it like?

You mean that these things have a NAME? :D An artist date. I like it. I've always referred to them as my meditative indulgence adventures (MIA-and it fits,if you think about it!). I know...too wordy. Story of my life.

Yes, I do have these MIAs, aka: "artist dates". I took my camera down to the Botanical Gardens last weekend for a photography workshop offered there. The MIA part was afterwards when everyone else (just about) went home because the sky was spritzing us with a mist...so I threw my jacket over my head & camera and set out to walk off the paths and find some things I normally would not have seen. I found them. :)

Music is by far my favorite muse. A few years ago when I was still hiding behind some self-imposed walls, I was issued a challenge to make a CD that "defined who I was". VERY difficult when your muse is music!! However, after about 2 weeks, I had a CD of around 18 songs. That was Volume 1. I am currently on Volume 15 and I can go back and listen to any of them, see where I was and where I am now. An autobiography soundtrack.

I walk around my property and shoot pictures of bugs and flowers from the ground up.

I find a quote that strikes a chord in me and write about why.

I wander through Hobby Lobby and brainstorm.

I Stumble Upon (through my Stumble Upon account) recommended sites of photography, art, and creative writing and am inspired. I do the same through Deviant Art.

LOL...probably more than you asked for when you requested an answer, but you hit upon something that lights me up from the inside :) That and I love words..."loquacious" is the "use one word to describe me" I got back from friends.

Thanks for the inspiration! Today is a PERFECT day for some MIA's!
