Love Letter No 111 - Upgrade Love

Dear U,
The sweetest things happen because
an effort is undertaken. Take the
good and make it better!?
When it comes to love accept
the upgrade. Add a gigabyte of memories,
upgrade the physical structures like putting
a plan of action in place,
try going wireless for improved maneuvering,
add the networking card for increased
communication, get a new optical mouse
for easy pointing, it all makes it so much easier
to share the love.

And isn't that what we've been hoping for?

With warm and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 110 - Ten Love

Dear S,
Scattered amongst half written poems,
partially journaled meltdowns, songs without
towering chorus, verses lying in wait of a bridge,
there are remnants of feelings savored yet unexpressed.
Gathered up, sorted, organized, for all the world, these add up
perfectly to Ten. The ultimate number of
(love potion no9) + 1 = 10.
The descriptor for ideal infatuation in sync.
Sweet Sweet Ten.

With warm and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 106 - Captivating Love

Dear S,
How did the wordsmith know that
captivating would be just the right word?
This heart of mine that has connected
with yours, oh captivating so tells the story.
I walked out the door this morning;
the world was somehow different;
the world spins around and things change.
There I am thinking with wonder on
the grace of the new day.
A captivating moment overcoming
my complacency.

With warm and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 104 - After Love

Dear S,
After first appearance, an email, a text, a call,
After hello it's me, door bell ringing silent,
After hug at door's threshold, arrival's fresh charm dims,
After flowers once bright, now withered, moment's music evaporates on wind,

After space 'tween fingers seems ne'er to be filled again,
After voices fresh calling, has lilted its last bit dear friend,
After dishes are washed, put away for the final meal,
After the walk through memories, both good and gifts, the whole deal.

Even after fond kiss remembered, a winsome gift from above
We've arrived and we're here "after love."

With warm and tender affection,
LarryG

It's not the loss, it's the memory

It's not the loss, it's the memory,
It's not the tears, oh it's the dreams,
It's not desperation of  missing them,
I guess it's all about the mess I'm in.

It's not the emptiness I'm living with,
The days, months, years, stretch out
and so do I.
In my heart I hold something so lovely,
It's not the loss, it's the memory.

It's not the babies growing up in pain,
Cause momma passed; no one's to blame.
It's the full heart that's beating to reality,
It's not the loss, it's the memory.

It's not the ring lying in the drawer,
Just the thought there could be so much more,
so come on down the road with me.
It's not the loss, it's the memory.

in honor of the memories, in hope for the future

Love Letter No 101 - Often Love

 Dear F,
Two deep deep crushes that have
met and moved along together to a better place.
A place of winsome mutual respect.
I guess I've told you everything.
Now I will start repeating myself.
Sweet things I longingly
 share with you, things that
must be continually repeated.
"You're beautiful"
"I love you"
"That's a sweet smile."
"You amaze me profoundly."

Shared sincere interest is a lovely
feeling. We do the neatest stuff,
enjoying our time with undivided attention,
always happy to see each other. Thank you
so very much for giving from your heart,
yes, I feel the love, it's great! And we have
humor, a ton of that great medicine
called laughter.

I know I love you,
you deserve to hear it,
often.

With warm and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 98 - Love Love Love

Dear H,
I love hearing "to know - know - know you,
is to love - love - love you, And I do, And I do,
And I do." This oldie is fresh - fresh - fresh with
the morning's awe of the day. And my heart -
heart - heart gently sings along. And my
mind - mind - mind turns to you. And my soul - soul -
soul longs for you. And my arms - arms -arms ache
to embrace you. And my lips - lips - lips purse to kiss you.

With warm - warm - warm and tender - tender - tender affection,

Love Letter No 90 - Unavoidable Love

Dear J,
So you thought I wrote for you and told me so, it should have been, I avoided writing it. Our common friend probably warned us both, she is so sweet and smart. Something to take to heart sweet one. Who would have thought there would be an unavoidable party to attend. Words so unavoidable to share. Like she wore red and I wore out the words "you're ravishing." And even the avoidable part seems unavoidable now. I keep thinking it must be getting late, something unavoidable headed this way, but the only thing unavoidable is the big smile in my heart.

With deep and tender affection,

LarryG

Love Letter No 87 - Dip Love

Dear S,
So we talked about broccoli and
applesauce for dip; or maybe
peanut butter. "Peanut butter is
good on apples, are you gonna put
it on the broccoli?"
That  would work.

"I really like your
hair, too cute."

And you said,
"It could happen." which
induced audacious smiles.

With deep and tender affection,

LarryG

Love Letter No 83 - Mystery Love

Dear ____,
The places we go, what we do and share,
all the activity sweetens love with
outward signs. Inside the deep
mystery of life and love sits
on the throne of my heart.
There within the mystery love
reigns supreme. Mystery love
motivates, compels, ennobles

my life that I live for you.
Within the soul is a song that
is sung for the soul's mate.
And the voice of mystery love is this
deep calling to the deep within you.
No, I can't see the wind,
I can't see the hand of God, and
I can't see love shared.
But my life has become the
sum total of mystery love.
In life I see mystery love everywhere.

With deep and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 82 - Linger Love

Dear T,
The smile of your presence
lingers
within me,
warming
the place we share.
To be together, to
linger
over a drink warm or cold.
An embrace to pause, the
moment when
linger becomes
eye contact,
even though it
is cold
there in the parking lot,

we both have places to go,
we continue to
linger.
We
linger in conversation
until
tension releases us
at last with
a kiss that will

linger.

With deep and tender affection,

LarryG

Love Letter No 78 - Speedy Love

Dear S,
I have this wonderful feeling
that overtakes me. Makes me
a bit dizzy, like spinning in the yard with
arms joined. Faster and faster hanging on
to mutual embrace. Sheer exhilaration in
swiftness. Roaring from the starting
line, images flipping up before me,
the super 8 projector is cranking up,
quickly becoming digital plasma!

This speedy love overtakes my heart,
sweeps me up, as we breeze along
at light speed.

With deep and tender affection,
LarryG

Love Letter No 77 - Buzzed Love

Dear B,
Together we buzz,
busily being best buds,
buying bits of budding brilliance,
the bearer of bustling boding
heart besieging love.
Bee mine!
My heart
buzzed with excitement.

With deep and tender affection,

Love Letter No 76 - Cooed Love

Dear N,
Our moments the times of our lives. Our names written as the synonym for happiness. Our initials carved in the tree of love. Our song cooed by the dove of peace. Whistled by the nightingale of passion.
Our joy alights on the smallest twig.

My shoulder your head nuzzled.

With deep and tender affection,

Love Letter No 75 - Hungry Love

Dear Z,
I remember the sights, sounds, feelings, tastes, smells. How delicious we are! How yummy! What a robust flavor this love. Sweet bubbly wine that tickles the nose and entices taste buds.

I'll lay it out completely -
This love is a delectable dinner...

The apertif is a White Sangria followed up with anitpasta platter, for our love starts with warming tides of winter.

The salad foretells summer with a Pinto Grigo,
for our love has summer's warmth.

The Chardonnay bodes the swordfish with salsa,
for our love is swimming the oecans.

The wild rice has the spice of the orient,
for our love is full of ancient mysteries.

The fruit and dipping chocolate for dessert,
for our love is sweet and to be savored.

The strawberry champagne toasts the night,
for our love sweeps into the beckoning new year.

I am hungry love! Oh how yummy this year will be.

With deep and tender affection,
LarryG

A Love Story

Pre-History

She
Discovering her way as a young person of faith,
Messenger of Satan encountered,
Years of rediscovery requiring searching of the soul
Then ultimately coming into the care of the Shepherd,
Realizing this is where she was all along
God does not forsake his beloved.

He
Similar yet longer journey, many life experiences
Family experience, growing children
And then a messenger of Satan claims a partner
Seeking Him becomes the greatest pursuit in life
Finding and sharing with spiritual friends
Chosen of common faith

Inklings
Common friends flow into lives
A graceful curve has begun to flow within

Spring Party
The powerful events of the Spirit and fellowship
Dying of self and shame and sickness
Walking in light of God’s love and faith
Moving into the candlelight
Letters of Christ’s love
this common weekend of life in community
it cuts to the core of who they are
and the obstacles of the Christian life
Seeing Him in each other’s faces

A Death in the Community
There are words in the “hymn of promise”

The Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree;
In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;
There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
----
A death came to our community,
A mother and father bereaved
Children suddenly fatherless
A young woman heartbroken
A young man receives the reward
And perhaps there is rejoicing for the wanderer come home
And somehow through this death
There is a resurrection, a new life of possibility begins
Communication springs forth
Exchanges of faith, fellowship
Longings are stirred

A prayer offered
Communication continues, friends touch the spirit of each other lives
Then out comes a prayer, thankfulness for the closeness
Thankfulness for the work of God
Beginnings significantly marked with gratitude

Then came Thursday
The talk was long and into wee hours
But ultimately there came a moment
Feelings no longer be held back
A word almost a whisper
It hung there in the moment
Suspended against he backdrop of grace
“I’m kind of smitten”
A heart pondering response

And as the heart ponders
Words come in
“there is work for two together”
More pondering in depth intense
Searching of the soul the heart the mind of God
“if I you know I am a believer
Come live with me”
And the Spirit smacks him into the floor
Writhing in joy, hope and belonging fully to Him
The fleece is wet, the ground is dry
The fleece is dry, the ground is wet
Who is like God?
It pleases Him,
let it be according to the desire of the Spirit
Confidence acquired, Moving ahead

Seeing Someone
She told those guys
He told those girls
How appealing is the one who
Has cast all to the Lord
The look of God-love upon their face
Who will come forth
Attracted to the light of this life or that one
Confidence in the king
Doing something right

Radical Question
The perfect dog, whiffer
The perfect card, falling more
The perfect ring, an heirloom
Yet, a moment too soon
And a question hangs
Above them as a rainbow over
Wet glade and garden
Much to consider, people to talk with
Details remain to work out

And then a kiss – oh glorious
How wonderful to discover
This kiss and not too late
And just soon enough
Everything shifting
Perspective remaining
A Kiss can do that and more
And …
It did – this kiss shared

Got Your Back
Got your back
Got your back
In prayer – the word
Two are better than one
A friend loves at all times
Calling in for a hug
Go 2 Girl and Go 2 Guy
Pouring out the cup
Of their lives for the
Precious ones God puts in their lives

Pulling Together
Come my love and share this burden
The yoke He said is easy
The burden it is light
And gently gracefully they took the handle
As two children of one spirit
A wagon for to pull
At times one rides one pushes
then the other rides and is pulled
and then they pull together
or get in this wagon side by side
riding with one leg out and pushing together
and then at hill’s top they join
for the coast to the foot of the hill
and begin to pull together

Life in the wake
A vision emerging,
Something called ‘Way’
Through those many
Dangers – toils – snares
And more to come
Relationships – talks with family
Talks with friends
Knowing certainty
A peace that comes from living
Life in the wake of the Spirit’s tide
Not knowing the next chapter
Assured only by the author
Continuing revelation
Joy for the journey

Love Letter No 72 - Effortless Love

Dear B,
You inspire wonderful feats,
Let's dance to the pipe
and the fiddle till dawn.
And then let go, adrift, floating.
Effortless.
You have taught me very well.

Effortless love, so very
light, lithe, flexible.
No struggle to hang on,
no chance of a strained muscle,
and no nose out of joint.

It is zero gravity, no pressure,
specific gravity that floats,
buoyant love. All day long
I think of nothing else, and
this smile left behind, ahhh,

divine, winsome,
effortless.

With deep and tender affection,

LarryG

Have you? Did you?

Have you had a rug burn?
Did you get itchy from a grassy hillside?
Did you wake up with roses on your porch?
Have you gotten butterflies in a bouquet?

Did you get a song to sleep by?
Have you been tucked in?
Have you met at the visitor's center?
Did you take a three county loop ride?

Have you been to the land of the green?
Did you spin yourself dizzy together?
Did you throw away a box of memories?
Have you laughed till you hurt?

Did you share a bottle of DeLoach?
Have you been on a hot date?
Have you felt a hundred godwinks a day?
Did coincidence confirm connection?

Have you sat with guitar and song sheets?
Did you inspire a praise song, written and sung?
Did you stumble to the stairs?
Have you danced to the whistle and fiddle?

Did you share dark fear in a sacred space?
Have you had a heart placed in your hands?
Have your tears fell again in brokenhearted pain?
Did you stub every toe on both feet?

Have you? Did you?
Did you? Have you?
