WHAT DOES YOUR DAY MEAN?

Just for fun... You can go to the link and calculate the day of the week for your birthday if you don't know...
find it here >>>> WHAT DOES YOUR DAY MEAN?

MONDAY:
Monday's child is fair of face.
You are good-looking, especially when you smile!
You are beautiful inside and out.

TUESDAY:
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
You have many talents, and are fun to be around.
You dance through life!

WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
You are a serious person, and try to change things that seem unfair.
You make the world a better place!

THURSDAY:
Thursday's child has far to go.
You have many ideas, and you want to do them all.
You will go far in life!

FRIDAY:
Friday's child is loving and giving.
You are caring and sharing. You are kind,
you love people, and people love you!

SATURDAY:
Saturday's child works hard for a living.
You are ambitious, enjoy work, and like to accomplish things.
You know what you want!

SUNDAY:
But the child born on the Sabbath day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.
You are sunny, fun, and loving.
You bring much joy to other people!

---------------

I always liked this little poem...

I am a Tuesday (full of grace). What day are you ? leave a comment...

listen, do you want to know

shhhh! listen, do you want to know
what your heart
has to say?
quieten yourself,listen, be
attentive for a few
moments stop
verbalizing
everything that pops into
your head, shhhh! your heart
wants to whisper a secret for
your ear, for you alone it's only
time, shed some time and see
what your heart says even if
you are upset at first eventually
you will feel better, whole, fructuous
just by simply listening to your heart
when you listen, conscientiously
for the secret of your heart

Love Letter No 8 -Morning Love

The idea is to write a brief love letter ... This weeks theme – Morning Love

Write a love letter and share it...

Okay here's my "Morning Love" letter.

----------------------
Dear D,

Am I half awake or half asleep? I rise to your touch, you are with me. How could we sleep through the night and be awakened this way? You for me, and me for you. It happens, and I am so glad it happened to us.

We share our predawn morning, a sunrise, a day, a lifetime.

I will love you, every day.

falls short

it wasn't a problem of feeling the care
the grace, the joy, the love was there
it wasn't a problem of being accepted,
complete trust happened no truth rejected,

it was fear, deadly fear, fear kills you know
i try to deny it, i can say "it ain't so"
but in fear i can't return the great prize
what i have to give falls short in my eyes

Week Number 136

3) What is your favorite part of the yesterday?
"i honor memories by recording them"

4) What has been your greatest accomplishment in life so far?

5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.

"the invisible woman choosing an outfit"

oh little one

oh little one, don't be troubled at all,
I am your friend, you are mine to call,
beautiful words building you up are grand,
but without love I am no friend

knowledge deep of mysteries profound
i am no friend if love does not abound
feed you and your family with finest fair
i am no friend if love is not there

oh little one, I will always be kind,
patient with grace, not jealous or blind
count on the fact of no selfish pride
love brings equality, no rudeness to chide
anger, brooding, rejoicing in wrong
these neither here or at worst, long gone

forgiveness unlimited, trust, hope too

power to endure trials of friendship with you
voices my fail, tongues and knowledge pass
you are never forgotten that is how long this will last

oh little one, friendship that lasting from above
there is faith hope and love, and the greatest is love

darkness and light

I exist in a depth of shadow,
of sheer spiritual eventuality -
secrets beyond understanding
mysteries hidden from me,
but no more than heaven's revelation
are secrets within life's sea

within there is value incomparable
the stars above held inside,
the lyrical being so lovely
usually cast carelessly aside,
love, concrete and amazing,
confronts contempt and won't hide

from one soul to next, love shows out
and shows up where loss brings regret,
revealed in every day people
without love we can't share what we get,
only love reveals depth and true nature
show some love, is there time, you bet
-------------------------------------

“The human being down here in the darkness of his fleshly state is as mysterious as the saints in heaven in the light of their glory. There are in him inexhaustible treasures, constellations without end of sweetness and beauty which ask to be recognized and which usually escape completely the futility of our regard. Love brings a remedy for that. One must vanquish this futility and undertake seriously to recognize the innumerable universe that one’s fellow being carries within him. this is the business of contemplative love and the sweetness of its regard.” ~ Thomas Merton, September 20, 1966, VI. 137-38

Mayo to Pizza, and the comprehensive plan

http://fridayfillins.blogspot.com/2008/09/friday-fill-ins-90.html

1. There is no need to help, I can botch this up by myself.

2. Where in the heck did the mayonnaise get off to.

3. A couple of posts and an Excel file is all I managed to do.

4. Prospects for my teams winning season look dim.

5. "Move it, move it" is the message.

6. Simplicity and tranquility are part of my "comprehensive" plan.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a night out, tomorrow my plans include using a squirt gun and eating pizza and Sunday, I want to eat at the fellowship supper at church!

Love Letter No7- Our Love

The idea is to write a brief love letter ... This weeks theme – Our Love

Write a love letter and share it...

Okay here's my "Our Love" letter.

----------------------
Dear Y,
The magic we share in this love is profound!
I relish the freshness of our love. And our time together means everything.
We have grown through all we've shared.
I love the way we look at one another in unselfish humility. Proud of our love, yet submitted to one another. There is no treachery in this love, only openness and strength.
The character this has built within me, the character of our relationship, manifests our love in every way, every day of our lives.
Our love is strong, because we do it for each other.
I love you and want that more for each moment we share.
Our love is life, it's light, it's peace, it's joyful.
I Love You!

Wordless Wednesday - Angelic

you could do this too

My passion is ...

faith, hope, love

I know too much about ...

(I'm not getting this) I don't think we can know too much... but I'll ponder

My parents always told me ...

'no one can take away your attitude, education, or salvation; those are always with you'

My childhood ambition ...

sports, computers, space (two out of three isn't too bad, and I enjoy sports, just didn't make it to the big time of sports)

My favorite memory ...

There was this time we were playing tunes on the porch of a house, there were birds joining in, it was quite miraculous to hear "nature sing"

Why I write ...

to crack the shell of ego and become transparent to me

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I've been reading blogs (see the right hand column), Oates, Rene' Girard, Updike, Bible, Manning, ten Boom; I have started the "Sarah Connor Chronicles" this month; Contemporary Gospel, Blue Grass, Traditional, Irish

My first job ...

US Army (odd jobs during school)

My best moment ...

Love and faith, coming from hope - the expression of these in many situations creates a life that is joyous, overcoming even in the face of extreme circumstance

My inspiration ...

grace that saves, sacrifice that nurtures, mercy that forgives, suffering that lifts up, love that empowers

Wordless Wednesday - Recent Breakfast

You Make My Day Award

Shadow came along and shared this with me.

Things were actually a bit barren here and then all the edges got knocked off at once!

Thanks Shadow

now i need to pass them on, but i believe i’m going to dwell on this for a minute or so…… okay, but first “the rules”

(1) give this to people whose blogs mean something special to you - or give it to the blogs whose persons mean something special to you
(2) leave a comment on their blog so they know they got it
(3) you get to pick the number of times you give it

Meg at
"Floundering Writer Meg" She's always whipping up something special.

Jouette at http://jouettelove.com/ I'm not sure how she defines love, but she knows it (and shares it) when she sees it.

Soliel at Just Another Blog - check her out.

I do love you folks on the right hand column of my blog. Feel free to "i-appropriate" this and award it as you see fit :)

I heard someone saying, "I don't know about kids, they get so much social interaction online, I don't know if they properly relate." Well I think the kids are alright, and y'all are too.

all the little hurts

a slight by a friend,
a grandparent dies,
a dent in a van door,
a bump at a street corner,
a parent dies,
a sprinkler is stepped on and broken carelessly,
a hot iron falls on nylon carpet leaves it's footprint,
a thousand little sticks, for blood sugar, blood counts, levels of all sorts
a word misspoken by a spouse,
a bump on the head from a car hatch,
a bony mass requiring radiation,
a church friend complains,
a doctor takes power to serve his ego,
a misguided lecture,
a faucet drips,
a pet dies young,
a job left behind,
a holiday with family,
a death too soon,

there are times when all the little hurts still hurt

Juggle with fruits.

Observe people chopping meat.

Play tag with your very best friends.

Win a contest for a lifetime supply of Spam.

Play Wii or XBOX 360 in the electronics aisle.

Buy millions of energy drinks and go super hyper.

Bowl with a pineapple and ten cans in the clothing aisle.

Friday Fill-Ins #89

1. I enjoy connecting with people online.

2. "Is the Hokey Pokey what it's all about?" is something I wonder about often lately.

3. In your heart, you knew you were loved somehow, someway, by someone.

4. Take a song in your heart, add a little spring in your step and you end up with a recipe for dealing with life stress.

5. Life has gifted me with deprecating humor.

6. A reminisce is an instant vacation.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a surprise, tomorrow my plans include birthday fun for my 12 yo and Sunday, I want to hear "something I'll really like" a la Rocky J. Squirrel of Bullwinkle fame!

Love Letter No 6- Messy Love

The idea is to write a brief love letter ... This weeks theme – Messy Love

Write a love letter and share it...

Okay here's my "Messy Love" letter.

----------------------
Dear C,
Our love is a beautiful fix. It does fix much. All the important things in life are taken care of.
But the details are messy, oh so messy. And I love the mess we are in.

This love has taken over places in my mind that surprise me.

I got to the grocery store and could only remember 3 items: flowers, a bottle of wine, and cheese. The dentist called yesterday and told me I needed to reschedule an appointment. I almost ran out of gas twice this week. I got lost on a back road and could not remember where I was going. I can't find an ink pen at my desk. My coffee cup was in the conference room all week where I wandered off from it.

My cell minutes are running over, I can't stand to be away from you. And a simple text becomes a declaration of love, they come at the most amazing times. I am completely blown away. Our communication touches me so profoundly.

It's a mess, my life is upside down, I want to turn it back over, I know you will be there because we are in this mess together.
Hanging on, sorting this out, how powerful to be swallowed up in love. Thrashing and crying out, this love has shook up the pieces of my life. And as they flow back together we are more thoroughly mixed than could have ever been before.

Don't think you must help me out, come on into this mess with me. Love will guide us to our destination.

I love you
L

If You Asked Me I Would

if you asked me
I’d go out with you anytime
become lost in your eyes
relish the lilting song of your voice
feel energy of presences overlapping
touch without a word, eyes locked

hand brushing lightly all over

blessing of touch renewed

bodies sliding together - apart

life’s dance of love

if you asked me
I’d let you into my being moment by moment
did we wake up this way?

laughing over spilled milk

eating crackers in bed

drinking in one another’s essence

condensing emotion
embraces anticipated…

if you asked me
I would let you wash every inch of me
in a thunderous mountain stream

thick with forest smell, leaf, fauna

skin braced in coolness,

every nerve aware of contact

water beaded jewels on your body

warmed again by caress

lying on warm stone in sun

both free and in sync

in the open air

if you asked me
I would let you into my emotional fortress
bound together as blood natives

battling forces of evil together

hands pulling loads together,

bodies bearing burdens of pain

shared resources of strength

comfort in each others very bosom

warmth pressed to warmth

a kiss, the heat of love

in lips, in chest to chest, in arms on backs
body banter, flesh flavor, discovery
fingers tangle, touch, avalanche

if you asked me
I would light up with you in body glow
with stars and moon observing
our lives a mist on a windy night

full mouths connect
empty hands embrace
where clothes once were

a garden in full bloom

two hearts one heart

our hands one hand,

this love one love,

our lives one life

awaken from the slumber ---

if you asked me, we would, you and I

unbridled

imagine the cell rang,
it was me
you heard an ardent utterance,
it was me
three words like a lake's fog
it was me
did i hear correctly you wonder
it was me
that was totally beyond the norm
it was me
embarrassment to the nth degree
it was me
not now in front of everyone
it was me
then the moment becomes eternity
it was me
each hears the other's breath quicken
it was me
you've heard and you know
it was me

fall
and one said
"i am near to brokenhearted people"

but i don't need
a word
i need
an experience

i would rather

"The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost." ~ G. K. Chesterton

---------------

i would rather have given all i could muster for love

taken chances, stayed up and out all night

made big blunders,

written apologies - felt ashamed of myself

than to have reserved my actions

i would rather toss my cares for all else aside

roll the dice with you, my dear

and had them come up snake eyes

even after throwing every ounce we had into it

than to have wondered later what if

i would rather be in the 12 steps of recovery from love

than watched from the sidelines

waited in pain or fear, risked nada

never attempting to run the race

than to have just let it go

i would rather have thrown all i could into love

and have it cave in on me

and be thrashing and screaming out

beneath the difficulty and pain of loss

than to have held back

Week 134

http://curiousasacat.blogspot.com/2008/09/week-number-134.html

1) What has been the most "sincere" expression of faith you have ever witnessed (I changed this one from insincere to sincere - dad was on my mind)? My dad was in ICU and a friend of his (a preacher) came by to see him. They got to talking about old times (dad led music at revivals). Then dad started singing -

"Got any rivers you think are uncrossable, Got any mountains you can't tunnel through, God specializes in things thought impossible. He does the things others cannot do."

Dad lived about another 6 or 7 weeks. He was serving notice he was ready to go.

2) If you could paint each room in your house a different color, what colors would you paint them? Green - kitchen, Gold - Living area, Sky Blue - Bedroom

3) What is the biggest myth about sex? Men want sex more than women. I think it is just that women have a different approach and it is more emotionally based.

4) Who is the most charming person you’ve ever met? There was a hostess at a national plastics convention, I don't know her name, but she was making announcements in the atrium, she looked right at me and blew my socks off :)

5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.

taking a dare

sometimes it feels over the top
other times know, no way to stop
see on each web, a huge sign of love
a clue here and there, descent of a dove

blatant in posts poetic with passion
obscure in a list staying in fashion
love's fingerprints are all over the web
built into each psyche, divine human thread

yes other emotions are there to be sure

times of distress, sickness, things to endure
often they bring a prayer for intervention
these fly round world, bring angelic attention

give the world notice of something that's out
love fills space between folks that's what its about
move right past the discomfort to share
love, bombed out love, worth taking a dare

some ask, some don’t

some ask, some don’t

some ignore, some flaunt

some runover, some mislead

some step up, some deceive

some needy, some most dead

some too proud, some out of their head

some loopy, some on track

some laconic, some talk back

… what is it about forgiveness that we don’t get?

maybe i'm all of the above...
