I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love. ~ Mother Teresa

Decolores
blessings emote from a wondrous heart, prayerful sacrifice stirs,
blessing each day tangibly, soulful with meaningful words,
may love and spirit come forth, walking together ablaze,
insight of hopeful persistence, guiding the joy of these days,
may spiritual, physical, emotional needs in all people be met,
touched by greater grace, powerfully releasing ourselves, yet,
listening for the still small voice, to guide steps in assurance,
being brought to remembrance, for direction, purpose and endurance.
let the colors of the love all around us, from fall leaves to blue sky,
show through to bring life together, love colors that make the heart cry!

open door
heart of the matter life breaks in
showing thickness of shell, very thin
outward strength exposes inward need
spiritually bound or totally freed
life is formed in the shape of a cup
often poured out, then again filled up
stripping oneself makes for vulnerability
humbled, broken, offered, life's fragility
gifts of blessing, grace related
heart of a servant, constantly cultivated
--"the heart of transformation is the transformation of the heart"
i spent three days on retreat, Thursday pm to Sunday pm.

Love Letter No 15 - Tacit Love
Dear N,
When the piece before a member of a symphony says “Tacit”, that instrument is silent. Though the sound of glorious music rises and falls all around, the silence is observed. It is not a longing silence, no, not a bursting silence, or awkward silence. This silence is an enthralled silence that relishes and receives the sights and sounds that encompass it.
We have spoken of the goodness of silence. How we observe silence for a season, like the brass during the clarinet soliloquy. Silence deepens our hearts, deepens our thoughts, deepens our presence to one another and all the possibilities life brings us.
Love can bring silence. Silence affirms and confirms, transforms and strengthens, yields and seeds. For silence has the glorious beauty of quiet wind sweeping over ripened field, the moment just before the drum roll, the knowing in the gaze of lovers. Tacitness gives eyes the space needed to lock with one another, in wonder, in awe of this symphony around us. My heart beats with yours in the silence.
Silence resonates.

Oh For July!

hiatus together away at the beach
beautiful moments great to share
friends supportive glad to be there
heat of the summer, breeze of the sea
time to pickup the bungalow key
clean and cool right on the bay
listen for waves, breezes night and day
out to the island for extra sun
the drunk next to us having fun
stuffed ice down his girl friend's bikini
twisting and squirming, screaming out "meanie!"
we laughed out loud, then and later
joy in the moment couldn't be better
held hands and enjoyed the wee neighborhood
last days' treasure, enjoyed, it was good

For Solitude - behind the facade of life
from his book "To Bless the Space Between Us"
published by Doubleday 1st Edition
For Solitude
May you recognize in your life the presence,
power, and light of your soul.
May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
connects you intimately with the rhythm of the
universe.
May you have respect for your individuality and
difference.
May you realize that the shape of your soul is
unique,
that you have a special destiny here,
that behind the facade of life
there is something beautiful and eternal happening.
May you learn to see your self
with the same delight,
pride, and expectation
with which God sees you in every moment.

Love Letter No 14 - Encouraging Love
It feels we've turned it up a notch. That feels good to my heart, to my soul. Intensity is something I have longed for, you've brought it out. It was in my heart, but now it's set free. To live in the colors of the 'masterpiece we are made to be' takes encouragement.
I feel encouragement between us. Love and encouragement with depth that reaches to the beauty of the heart. This ability to feel, and to be able to share feelings, is the great gift we are given. To find that and share it draws deeper and closer in friendship and in love.
The heart we share together, the heart of our joined hearts, is a pearl of great price. We have begun a new conversation. I love you: and I long to see you.

Love Letter No 13 - Hurry Love

Dear T,
Hurry Love! I am so ashamed of my priorities. The things I run behind, the situations I throw myself into. The times I proclaim myself busy, it seems all about ego, power, and control. But it does not truly state who I am or allow me to expose the vulnerable side. That side is hidden from the watchful eye of those as busy as I am.
Hurry love, hurry, for I am humbled. Without this love there is dullness, without this love there is deafness, without love longing crawls away into the brambles of meaningless activity, without love belonging sinks into the sea of forgetting.
Hurry love, not for rush or madness, hurry to the solitude of oneness we embrace. Hurry love to rest in this intimacy called love. Hurry love into arms that only hope to hold you in the swelling tide of moonstruck kisses, breezes of passion flowing over our skin, waters rising to crest and splash through the spillways thought dry. The dam is breaking, hurry love, we’ll ride the flood together.
I love you. Hurry, yes, run, for too soon we last parted, too late we meet again.
