Only the crow's quarrelsome railing
proclaimed the warm blue
winter afternoon. Yet, stoic pines
worship the azure tint of sky,
while lazy clouds huddle in stalls
unseen in their quietness.
Meanwhile,
the warm dampness
in soil nags the life
in barren wasteland,
"Come out!
Come out and play!
Don't wait
for March, April or May!
Come out!
And Play!"
proclaimed the warm blue
winter afternoon. Yet, stoic pines
worship the azure tint of sky,
while lazy clouds huddle in stalls
unseen in their quietness.
Meanwhile,
the warm dampness
in soil nags the life
in barren wasteland,
"Come out!
Come out and play!
Don't wait
for March, April or May!
Come out!
And Play!"

sounds like you were really taking notice of your surroundings on your walk. very enjoyable :-)
I love this! Yesterday, the weather was bizarrely warm, and I could smell the damp garden soil. I'm ready for spring!
