G

g

Shadow over at http://gsp-shadow.blogspot.com/ played a game on her blog that seemed like huge fun, so i thought i'd play along. She got me the letter "G".

_g_ Made with My Cool Signs.Net

the rules of the game are simple. you are assigned a random letter and you should then post 10 things that you love that begin with that letter. if you read this and want to play, leave a comment that says so, and i'll assign you a random letter. and on and on it goes.

ten things i love about the letter 'g'

  1. G - it's the last letter in my name - LarryG reason for that, I will spill my guts, my middle name is Glenn. So now the cat is out of the ole bag, doncha know.

  2. gracious. a wonderful world, a way of thinking and acting, a gracious approach is that key that unlocks a lovely encounter.

  3. green. as in the wearing of the green and all things green, it is my favorite color.

  4. giant. I like the idea of a giant. In a field of study, community, achievement, sport, a giant is someone to look up to.

  5. gangling. I am almost 75 inches tall and thought of myself as gangling when I was a skinny kid in high school. I would have liked to had a few more inches in height and been even more gangling.

  6. gum. or candy, or anything you can buy at the corner store, i like that gum that has a juicy core inside. They use to call it 'gum that goes squirt.' lol

  7. goons and gangsters. these two have to go together, I especially like the big goons in the movies who are in the mode of "I am doing what I am told" and you got to have gangsters to have goons.
  8. grouchy or grumpy. did anybody else like the movie "Grumpy Old Men" ? At that stage it is acceptable to be grouchy or grumpy and nobody minds :)

  9. gown. just the right gown is stunning, be it evening, formal, wedding. Women shouldn't hold back when it comes to a lovely gown. You feel good and look good, Just go for it!

  10. grin. "It makes people wonder what you've been up to." ~ Anonymous

wanna play? lemme know and i'll fix you up with a letter....

what an embrace can do - remix #3

more in the mind than:
a moonbeam can bathe
,
a breeze can chat, a dusk can cloak,
awe can strike, a hug can awaken
more in the mind than on the lips,
or
on the tongue

no wisp of a kiss can misconceive
l'étreinte, m'embrassent
to truly long, to deeply belong,
désirer ardemment mène à l'appartenance

cling to your core

visualize the fog of late fall
cut through to daylight, sun, wind, color
cling to your core

smell the earth, breath in, release it
memory and instinct entwine
cling to your core

ebb and flow, wash over, yield to it
let the sea cleanse
cling to your core

lovely thought, hold it, wait for it,
keep the mind focused
cling to your core

the process

incredible describes the process, a molecule formed
then gathering with more of its own drops gain potential
ultimately falling to grass, glade, trees, earth to pool
releasing gravity's energy gain in mass they glide and form
creasing clay surface with the signature of primal presence

incredible describes the process, connection formed
then gathering grace emotions gain potential
ultimately expressing in voice, sight, touch, tender charm
releasing gracious energy of the encounter as they form
creasing human clay with the signature of primal presence

Love Letter No 24 - Wild Love

Dear Bond,
Wild love, alive, growing, living, with its very own presence.
Wild love is waiting in the front room behind the door, at the foot of the basement stairs, in bed in the house with the door unlocked at 2:30am, or on the couch ready for a cuddle and kiss, to be grabbed, hugged, rubbed, loved, and finally dragged off to another room for more.

Wild love is gazing through candlelight across the tablecloth that covers bare floor. Eating a simple meal before putting the lights out to scramble over one another.
Wild love causes carpet burns on elbows and knees, takes a sleeping bag in place of a king sized bed, finds the floorboard of a truck or seat leaned back for moments of pure bliss, or a room with a view miles from home, or drags one off to the bedroom at first opportunity.
Wild love, soooo flexible.

Wild love sorts through clothes in discreet darkness and says, "this is yours, this is mine, where's those socks? my undies?"

Wild love! It can be a puzzle, but forsake it!? Never!
To lose wild love's passion is to lose our very selves.

Oh how we love, Wild Love,
Larryg

To Bless Renewal Awakened

During the strain of the day
when losses two and three
pile up on one another,
may a sweet breeze tossle your hair
to remind you of your natural connections
to sun wind and clay.

When frigid darkness slinks away at dawn
may you sprawl
warmed in a bath of sunlit confidence.

As the season turns the shortened days stretching,
may you stretch the part of yourself
which has lain fallow
into a resurgence of life.

And all the internal space provided
by the "permanent climate of divine kindness"
wells up within
as simplicity, laughter, honesty, love
and thankfulness
apply the life giving oil of healing
to every nook and cranny
of the self that renewal has awakened.

Our Hearts Are Sore - remix #2

At the start -
forgive -
before the pain -
let live -
one simple step -
prepared release -
saves time and brain -
it's sure to please -
the pressures off -
completely at ease -
so now mistakes -
bring on laughter -
cause it works -
it's what I'm after
.

(Imagine a world where everyone puts forgiveness in place at the start of every relationship, even the briefest of encounters. Walls come down.)

the interview

there’s a wonderful game about. i found it at shadow’s over at http://gsp-shadow.blogspot.com/. I wanted to play, so she sent me these questions. if you want to play too, check out the rules at the bottom…

  1. What do you consider to be the biggest decision you’ve made in your life, and why. To love and trust by faith in the unseen. Why? feeling that urging from an unknown source to express trust.
  2. About which things/circumstance are you a ‘black/white’ person and about which things/circumstances are you a ‘grey’ person? Personal choices I am grey, it is crucial that folks take ownership and make their own choices. I find my black/white within me, my personal guide, not to be inflicted on others.
  3. If i wanted to get you in a really good, peaceful mood, what should i do, say and plan. Start with a great meal, good wine, kind attention, depends on the amount of influence that is wished to be exerted.
  4. Under which conditions do you write the best, i.e. computer, notebook & pen, to silence, with music, morning, sad, happy etc. Most of my writing is done in my head, then depending on the degree of resolution in there, I either write on paper and edit and rewrite or sit and type on the pc. It is fluid and not set in stone.
  5. Care to share your favorite daydream with us? Imagine relaxing in a shady grove, near water, perhaps a pasture with cattle of sheep in the field, a few clouds, blue sky, sunshine, or a starry night with bright constellations, gentle breeze. I suggest working this and thinking out all the details to really make that daydream alive inside.
The Rules
  • leave me a comment saying: interview me
  • beware all comments will be published e-mail addresses or not - you can find my email on my profile
  • i will e-mail you five questions. i get to pick the questions
  • you can then answer the questions on your blog
  • you should also post these rules along with an offer to interview anyone else who e-mails you wanting to be interviewed
  • anyone who asks to be interviewed should be sent 5 questions to answer on their blog
  • it would be nice if the questions were individualized for each blogger

so, who's up for it????

This earth enjoys your footprints

"When you are in a certain place,
great love or kindness happens;
it imprints itself on the ether of the place."
~ John O'Donohue

This earth enjoys your footprints
Walk along, walk along
On grass, dry leaves, twigs, stone and gravel
This earth enjoys your footprints.

This place enjoys your presence
Look around, look around
A hill, a glade, a field, or wood and stone
This place enjoys your presence

This world enjoys your journey
travel on, travel on
to landmark, mountain vista, river bank, to coming home,
This world enjoys your journey

This world enjoys your journey

Love Letter No 23 - Flowing Love

Dear Bond,
The image of flowing water is lovely. In nature a stream, creek, or river may flow with gentle kindness. The rainsoaked earth gives up waters in abundance. Rivulets appear in new places, earth washes away from banks of creek, a river is a mighty force changing course and landscape in the process.

There is a rhythm to flowing water, from trickle to torrent, from placid to tempestuous, from crystal clear to turgid. Flowing water finds its way. Things change when water flows.

In all this, beauty continues its expression. Beauty is always appearing in and around this flow offering its divine dance, be it in safe shallows, intrepid rapids, or deep ocean's spray.

May the flow of life, love, and laughter,
flow to possess you and be released in you
expressing a wondrous embrace.

With tender affection,

Larryg

interesting blog

--------------------------------------
the quote below is from Whitehot Truth
written by
Danielle LaPorte

Radical personal accountability does
wonders for your consciousness.
It makes you think like a god.
It turns fault lines into musculature.
But coy self-deprecation and taking
on criticism doesn’t do anyone any favors.
Being genuinely strong and genuinely flexible
is truly positive re-framing,
as opposed to the fake re-frame.

Open your heart
(it’s always bigger than you think.)
Stand tall (you’re just trying to get by like the rest of us.)
And pour some real sugar on it (none of that nasty NutraSweet stuff.)

to Bless a Blogger - blessing #1

When the server stops serving,
the broadband is only a wire,
the cell phone dropped in the drink glass,
may the internal message of communication
be saved from application to hard disk.

And as the hardware gently spins in the cooling
fan's breeze, may your RAM capacity always
exceed you swap space need.

And when the very backbone of the internet
is down for a reboot,
may you always be able to grab a land line
and phone home.

feeling is remembering - remix 09

I have challenged myself to refine, rewrite, and rework something I have done in the past once a week. I think this will be a Monday regular for '09. This was the first post on this blog dated Nov '07.Now for the remix:

feeling is remembering - remix '09

Instincts experience formative substance,
sharing the journey, narrative's abundance

the near, the distant, collect in the brain,
enjoyment and pleasures, embody the same,

interconnections are roots nurturing lives,
painting verbal murals, imagination's eyes,

every strand of the epic colorfully woven
biographical tapestry's gift to be chosen.

I feel...

I feel...
... alone at times, and that is okay.
... I am able to experience solitude.
... at age 12, 16, 19 the kids are well adjusted.
... at peace.
... sunrises and sunsets are important.
... thinking poetically every day has made a difference in my life.
... writing in a journal is good for me.
... life experience is a valuable gift to offer a friend.
... things are working out as they should.
... held in a permanent climate of divine kindness.
... it is time to get back to playing music.
... a walk in the woods is elemental.
... good about you!

hidden expression

A get away yields hidden expression,
emptying releases lasting impression,

soul's wound balanced with forgiving blindness,
"permanent climate of divine kindness" (*)

wine and cheese long misplaced,
foot massage lingers stress erased

one's description, the word giant
another's young people, perhaps pliant

also inferred were gifts of healing
add it all up, startling, appealing

naturally stretching the reach of longing
internal fluidity finding belonging
